1: Saturday 9th October 2010
We fly from London to Washington and transfer by road to Front Royal.

2: Sunday 10th October 2010
We depart Front Royal to join the Skyline Drive stopping first at
The Shenandoah National Park. We continue along the Skyline Drive
to our overnight stop.
Overnight in Waynesboro
Day
3: Monday 11th October 2010
We spend all day driving along the Skyline Drive. We travel into
the Blue Ridge Mountains join the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Overnight in Roanoke
Day
4: Tuesday 12th October 2010
We leave Roanoke to continue our travel along the Blue Ridge Parkway
stopping at good photographic points along the way.

5: Wednesday 13th October 2010
We continue our journey to Asheville along the Blue Ridge Parkway
and then onto Chimney Rock.

6: Thursday 14th October 2010
From Asheville we continue south along the Parkway and into the
Great Smoky Mountain National Park to Gatlinburg which is situated
on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountain Park.

7: Friday 15th October 2010
We spend all day in the Park. Newfound Gap provides spectacular
views of peaks and valleys. From here we can take a 7-mile spur
drive to Clingman’s Dome at 6,643 ft. the Park’s highest
mountain.

8: Saturday 16th October 2010
All day spent exploring the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

9: Sunday 17th October 2010
We make an early start to begin our return journey to the north.
We will have more good photography opportunities along the Blue
Ridge Parkway drive.

10: Monday 18th October 2010
We continue north exploring the fall colours along the Blue Ridge
Parkway and in the vicinity until we reach the town of Jefferson.

11: Tuesday 19th October 2010
We continue our journey northwards along the Blue Ridge Parkway
taking time to enjoy the tranquillity, the autumn tints and great
photography until we reach Roanoke.

12: Wednesday 20th October 2010
We enjoy our final day in the peaceful environs of the Blue Ridge
Parkway as it takes us through the Shenandoah National Park to Fort
Royal.

13: Thursday 21st October 2010
We drive north towards Pennsylvania. Our route takes us via the
Gettysburg Civil War Battlefield then onto the Amish community of
Lancaster County.

14: Friday 22nd October 2010
We are in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country with the many
farms and towns of the Amish people.

15: Saturday 23rd October 2010
We spend the major part of the day exploring the Pennsylvania Dutch
Country before driving south the Washington DC.

16: Sunday 24th October 2010
We spend the day exploring the fascinating city of Washington. The
White House, Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Memorial are some
of the sites on offer.

17: Monday 25th October 2010
We spend a relaxing morning in preparation for our return to London.
If time permits we may take the opportunity to explore the area.
The amount of time we have for this is subject to the time of our
flight departure. We will then transfer to Washington Dulles Airport
for our afternoon flight to London.
Day 18: Tuesday 26th October 2010
We arrive the next morning losing 5 hours on our return journey.
