Day 1: Sunday 29th September 2024
Fly from London to Keflavik and transfer to our hotel on the Snaefellsness Peninsular, a journey of 225 kms.

Day 2: Monday 30th September 2024
In the morning we drive west to Kirkjufell allowing time to photograph the waterfall and the mountain. We then head west to explore around the Snaefellsness Peninsular returning to photograph Kirkjufell in the evening.

Day 3: Tuesday 1st October 2024
In the morning drive south to Budir, Arnastapi and Hellnar as we follow the opposite route around the Snaefellsnes Peninsular returning to photograph Kirkjufell in the evening.

Day 4: Wednesday 2nd October 2024
After breakfast we will head towards Helgafell following Route 54 east along southern shore of Hvammfjordur with it rugged landscape and isolated churches. We then cross the Laxardalar valley to Hrutafjordur before joining Route 1 through Vidadalur to Blondous.

Day 5: Thursday 3rd October 2024
We cross the peninsular to Skagajordur and the delta of the Heradsvotn River before we follow the wild and remote northern coastline to Siglufjordur and then along the western coastline of Eyjafjordur to Dalvik, a great area for spotting whales offshore.

Day 6: Friday 4th October 2024
From Dalvik our journey takes us south along Eyjafjordur to Akureyri, Iceland’s second largest city. We then travel to Godafoss to explore the mighty waterfall before rejoining the northern coast at Husavik.

Day 7: Saturday 5th October 2024
Today will take us to on a photographic exploration of one of the remotest coastlines of Iceland. We explore along Oxarfjodur and Pistilfjordur as we follow 85 to Midfjordur. As we follow the eastern side of this remote peninsular, we pass Vopnafjordur and follow the Hofsa river valley to Route 1. Here we turn west for the journey to Lake Myvatn.

Day 8: Sunday 6th October 2024
Today we travel east to visit Hverir thermal field and then on to Grimmstadir where we turn north along Route 854 to Dettifoss, Selfoss and Hafragilsfoss. We then drive north to Asbyrgi and explore the Asbyrgi Canyon before we explore along the western side of Jokulsa a Fjollum on Route 862. When we reach Route 1, we turn east back towards Lake Myvatn where we explore along the shoreline in the afternoon light.

Day 9: Monday 7th October 2024
Today we will explore round the shoreline of Lake Myvatn, before heading back to photograph Godafoss. We then follow Route 844 & 843 to Aldeyjarfoss to photograph this remote waterfall. We return to Standvik, crossing the bridge following the eastern side of Skalfandafljot River back up to Godafoss. We then join Route 1 and return to Lake Myvatn to explore the afternoon light.

Day 10: Tuesday 8th October 2024
We make an early start for our return to Keflavik. We follow Route 1 to Reykjavik and pass through the towns of Akureyri, Blondous, Bifrost and Borgarnes. From Borgarnes we continue south on Route 1 to Reykjavik. Here we join Route 41 for the final part of our journey to Keflavik.

Day 11: Wednesday 9th October 2024
Today is our return flight to London. If we have an afternoon departure, we will spend the morning exploring the Keflavik area, before transferring to the airport for flight.
