The Albuquerque Balloon Festival is the greatest
event of its kind any where in the world and offers a feast of photography.
Held over a ten day period the festival boasts the largest single
collection of balloons and during the mass ascents this is a truly
inspiring spectacle. We will be coupling our tour to the Balloon
Festival with a look at the spectacular State of Colorado bathed
in the golden fall colour.
We will begin our tour in Denver and travel south
the Colorado Springs where we will have the opportunity to visit
the amazing Chapel at the United States Air Force Base. This truly
amazing building has a roof constructed of stainless steal and interspersed
with stained glass. It is among the most fabulous building to photograph
the Photoventures has seen in the United States. From here we travel
south the Santa Fe for a visit to this wonderful city before we
arrive in Albuquerque. We will stay for five days in Albuquerque
and access to the launch field is included. Visitors are allowed
to walk and photograph freely on the field at all times. With such
an amazing number of balloons on show there will be much great photography
to be undertaken. We will also offer clients an optional balloon
flight during our stay. During our stay in Albuquerque we will also
take the opportunity to visit the Old Town, the Route 66 areas of
the city and Laguna to photograph the Adobe church.
From Albuquerque we travel north to Farmington to
photograph the amazing Shiprock before we head into the heart of
Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. Our journey takes us to Durango
terminus of the Durango and Silverton Railroad before we follow
the Million Dollar Highway through the aspen covered mountains to
the old mining town of Silverton. Those who have never experienced
the Rocky Mountains swathed in blankets of golden aspens have missed
one of the most memorable autumn experiences to be found any where.
This tour will offer access to many wild areas of Colorado where
you can get unrivalled photography.
From Silverton
we travel over the mountains to Ouray and across the Dallas Divide
to Telluride. Returning to Ridgway we continue onto Montrose and
the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. From here our journey continues
past Maroon Bells to Carbonville and Aspen. The journey continues
north through Leadville and into the Rocky Mountain National Park
where we cross the park over a pass more that 12,000 feet in elevation
before we drop down to Estes Park on our return to Denver and the
completion of this exciting tour.
The
current tour prices reflect the huge drop in the exchange rate of
the US Dollar as of November 2008. Should the exchange rate improve
in the future then tour prices will be reduced accordingly. |
